Bob M.

I have a 2 system network. Windows 2000 & 98 system. The
98 system can see and read/write to the 2000 system fine.
But, the 2000 gets following error message when trying to
access the 98 system:

"The account is not authorized to log in from this station"

I have double checked user accounts for proper rights,
matching names, passwords, shares. Wiped & reloaded 98
system, still having problem & don't want to wipe the 2000
system. Any help is greatly appreciated.
Thanks, Bob M.

Usually the problem is the other way. Anyhow, are you using default security options
on the W2K box?? There are a lot of settings there such as digitally sign client
communucations [always for client] that can cause a problem. Otherwise check your
share permissions on the W98 computer, though I can't remember all the details of how
to set it up but I think there is a read/full/password permission. Also check that
you are using just tcp/ip on each computer -W98 may have netbeui on it which you may
want to remove. --- Steve
