I am upgarding win98 to win2000 and I have worked out all
the problems with hardware and software issues. I start
the upgarde and when it gets to the end of preparing the
upgrade report it fails with a message that formathd has
caused an invalid page fault in kernel32.dll.
I have searched Microsoft's site to no avail. Has anyone
seen this message before or encountered it and if so what
is the solution to this.

Please let me know.

Thanks

Patrick

That's what I told you Patrick.
You could spend up to one month jacking with that
And then you'll just be mad and learned a lesson
You'll wipe it
Then you can do even an up grade, if it's in the right order, you read all of the hotpatches
and DON'T do any of them that you don't have issues with. And then later you could still have
trouble.
I advise everyone who clean installs and upgrades just after to load drivers first including
BIOS, Windows Update, and then install I.E/O.E. and do a Ghost or Disk Image. One on the HDD
and one burned.
Then load one app. at a time, make sure it not going to cough up any blood. Put them in the
order that you need them and install them spread out over a few days when you know you are
gonna need to use them in the next day or two.

Sorry for wordiness,
don
