Win2000 TrmSrvs not updating profiles on Main Server

We are running into a problem where
customized settings on a Terminal Server
(eg: network drives, printers, etc)
are not getting saved under the user's home directory
and shared with other terminal servers.

This is not happening with ALL users, those who had
home directories set up while the DNS server was NT4.0
are working fine.
Any new user we create since upgrading the server to
Win2000, seems to have this problem.

Our win2000 servers are a mix of SP2 and SP3.
Active directory seems to be set up correctly.

I would watch the profile directory to see what is
heppening when they are logging out. Are their local
profiles being deleted or changed in any way?

Maybe load their registry hive into regedit at different
times to see when exactly their profile settings are being
lost. You might have a group policy that is getting rid
of these settings.

I am having the same exact problem and its driving me up the wall!!!!

1. AD is set up correctly.
2. User logs on to TS1
3. User does some work and saves file X to the desktop.
4. User logs in next day and lands on TS2
5. Apparently the work done on TS1 was never communicated back to the
master profile and so an older version of the profile was loaded onto
the new terminal server instead.

Al computers in the network are running W2K Server. All Terminal
Servers are running SP4 except one which is running SP3.

Can't figure it out.

Did you check the thread that I referred to?

For your convenience, I copy the same information into this thread
as well:

EventID 1000 with Source UserEnv is a *very* common event, with
many causes.
Have a look at this event at EventID.Net at
http://www.eventid.net/display.asp?eventid=1000&source=userenv

One of the more recent hotfixes for this event (that hasn't yet
made it to EventID.Net) is

828153 - UsrClasses Hive Does Not Unload During Logoff Because of
an Intermittent Handle Leak in Spoolsv.exe
http://support.microsoft.com/?kbid=828153

This is a pre-SP5 hotfix.
