I just recently installed registry shower in pc. after the installation, I was asked to restart the pc. However, the pc restarts after loading my personal settings. what could be the problem and what can I do. I have tried re-installing win 2000 under a new folder to then replace all instances of the new folder with WINNT, but to no avail. pc continues to restart.

No, I didn't back up my regisrty before running the reg cleaning software. If I try to run win in safe mode, the same problem happens again. The system restarts just about when it has to display the desktop. I have also tried booting using the win2000 cd but the problem cannot be fixed. When I first switch on the pc, these are the events/stages it goes through:

- Starting windows 2000
- Starting up screen
- windows2000 is starting up
- Log on to windows2000
- loading your personal settings
