I've upgraded the hard disk drive on a PC running Windows 2000. The PC
does not see the full extent of the 160 GB disk (only 127 GB.) I have done
some research and have found that I have to make an entry in the Registry
to request a change to the addressing of the disk that will permit full use
of the 160GB.
A check of the Registry showed that the property for the proper addressing
was not set. I also notice that the descriptions for the old disk drive
were still noted in the Registry. I have not stop/restarted the machine
since installing the replacement drive.
How do I get the description of the new hard drive to be noted in the
Registry?
None of the utility programs with the new drive changed the Registry
entries.
Thanks for your help in advance.
