Hi,
I don't know where to post this message. Sorry if this isn't the right group :-(
The network administrator upgrade a Windows 2000 Server to a Window 2003 Server.
He said he maintained all the settings (Computer name, Domain name, User Accounts, etc.).
My workstation is a Win2000 Pro (Sp4). When I logged in today, a new profile has been
created. The administrator said that all I have to do is copy from one profile (
created under a windows 2000 server domain ) to the new one (created with windows
2003 server domain). I 've copied carefully all the files, but when it comes to
'NTUser.dat', some strage entries appears in the registry. (I guess this file has
some old profile settings that cannot be read.)
But this is not working. My environment is misconfigured and a lot of applications
are not working.
I am a developer, and I have installed in my machine some development tools /
components / libraries that took me 2+ days to set up correcly. I just don't have
time to set it all over again, as I have to test/deploy my project in 2 days..
How can I restore my 'old' profile again?
Is there a step by step procedure, a link, anything (or should I just pull my few
hairs out)?
(Under HKEY_USERS there are some strange entries like S-1-5-21-2634856197... instead
of the nice names and classes)
TIA,
Clément
