Hello,
Using W2k-pro+SP4, i have lots of Event id: 4106 logs in Event
Viewer's Applog and after investigating long times, i made out that
this log occurs because of MSN Messenger is installed and occurs after
you shutdown or restart the system.

Here is the log:
Event ID: 4106
Source EventSystem
Type Warning
Description The com+ Event System detected a corrupt
IEventSubscription object. The COM+ Event System has removed object ID
{<object ID>}. The subscriber will no longer be notified when the
event occurs.

There is an article in MS site but there's no exact link to download
for the hotfix.
http://support.microsoft.com/kb/822618/ How can i get Com+ rollup
package 27? Auto updates are enough or single hotfix is not available?

What should i do?

Thanks.

Why does Microsoft charge money for their fault?

Why isn't most of hotfixes downloadable?

I can't understand...

These questions has been asked many times before.

It seems that the language stated in the conditions section is not clear enough
at first glance, but if you read it again you'll see that there is no charge if
the hotfix is related to your problem. The specific sentence reads as follows,
"In special cases, charges that are ordinarily incurred for support calls may be
canceled if a Microsoft Support Professional determines that a specific update
will resolve your problem."

Just be sure that you don't try to get any additional support other than the
download of the hotfix.

Regarding why they don't distribute all hotfixes to the general public, their
reasons are explained by the statements, "A supported hotfix is now available
from Microsoft, but it is only intended to correct the problem that this article
describes.", and "Apply it only to systems that are experiencing this specific
problem.".

IMO, they are simply controlling the distribution of this hotfix due to its
limited application.
