Win2000: How can I delete pagefile.sys and let Windows create a New Clean One

Hi All,

I think some wrong with my Windows Virtual Memory, then I decide to delete
PageFile.sys.

How can I do that.

See the KB link below for a way to do it with recovery console. Another way may be to
use system properties/advanced/performance options/virtual memory/change and create a
page file on another drive and set it to zero on the current drive. The change will
require a reboot and then you can change it back to the original drive if need be [I
would recommend defrag first]. You could also try changing the security option in
Local Security Policy to clear the pagefile at shutdown which you may not want to
leave as permanent as it will slow down your logoff, though I would consider the
first two options as more likely to fix a problem. --- Steve
