Hello,

since a month or 2 my computer crashes from time to time. Once I booted
and even didn't log in and still the computer crashed after a while (at
least after 20 - 25 minutes because my screensaver starts after 15
minutes). There is no bleuscreen, just a reboot. I thought it might be a
virus, but I install an update of AntiVir every month. I even executed
the worm remover for the blastervirus, downloaded from the oficial
microsoft webside.

Sorry, don't know what to do next.

Has somebody an idea?

cheers Andy

I upgraded my edonkey p2p program from an old 0.30 to 0.52 and is causeing a
memory leak in windows2000 after some time my PC will reboot itself giving a
memory dump,

The computer has rebooted from a bugcheck. The bugcheck was: 0x000000d1
(0x05b25114, 0x00000002, 0x00000000, 0xbfefe648). Microsoft Windows 2000
[v15.2195]. A dump was saved in: C:\WINNT\Minidump\Mini010704-02.dmp.

Is there any updates to win2000 that can fix this memory leak as i'm sure it
works for alot of people in win2000, i have NIS 2003 installed but the older
version was working

What i think the cause is that the small cached files are filling up in the
memory as they are mostlikely not completed downloading how can these be
paged to stop a memory dump "hard drive space is not an issue"

You might want to try disabling the screensaver first and see if the
problem goes away...it's had a long history of causing problems from
time-to-time when running on NT OS's (2000 included).

If the problem still exists & you're using animated cursors, then you
may want to temporarily switch back to one of the standard sets and see
what happens (fwiw...some video drivers in the past have had problems
dealing with ani cursors).

Another place to check is your event log to see if any errors were
logged that may provide some clues why it crashed.

fyi - there is a system setting for crash/recovery that allows you to
disable automatic reboot following a crash...you may want to temporarily
disable auto reboot (if set) so it doesn't blow past any error messages
without you getting a chance it.

good luck...
