Hi at all,

i have a little problem. I have a win2000 professional on a computer with a
network card. And i see and go, from it, on others computers in my lan. But
i don't succeed to make a new connection. On start/settings/Network and Dial
up...there is only Make new connection icon. I tried to make all steps and
its combination about make new connection but i don't succeed to create one.
This is for me necessary, because i want to change the optins about ip,
gateway and so on on my card.

How can i change these options if i don't see the icon appropriate about my
lan?

thanks

roberto

Hi Roberto,

You can only make one connection with a networkcard. What is your goal?

Hi Marina,

this is that i made. But on "Network and Dial up..." panel on my win2000
there i sonly the icon "Make new connections". It is superficial to say you
that i made various new connections proofs from it but nothing oputput. That
is doesnt' appear there the icon refers my network LAN. I don't need modem
or others. I want to go to the panel describes my protocol and changes, for
example, the ip and so on. My network card works properly (win2000 says
this).
Is there a way where i can obtain the panel refers my network card and
protocols relative.

thanks Marina

I have been having the same problem for many months.

Either the properties of the NIC to not appear at all or
if you click on the properties you get "an unexpected
error has occured".

Does anyone know why it is doing this?

Hi Roberto and Anthony,

Is the computer fully patched? Has it got SP4 and ms03-039 loaded? Since
when are you having this problem?

Have a look at 329050 troubleshooting missing network and dial-up
connections icons and/or
254631 some network and dial-up connections icons are missing.
