win200 compatibility with older applications

to all you guys out there that know your windows and
computers back to front this may be a very simple question
i guess but for those still learning like myself its not.
can windows2000 run games and programs designed for
windows 95/98?

It depends. Win2K with Service Pack 2 or later has a
Compatibility Mode, which can fool many (but not all)
games and other programs into thinking they're running
under Win9x.
