Win XPe licensing

This one is for all the guys who are mass manufacturing
Windows XPe images. We have just undertaken project to
provide 100 Win XPe images to a customer. My question is
two pronged..firstly is there a Sysprep Equivalent for
Win XPE so that we can license each copy? also, How does
one handle mass production issue, I mean, I am trying to
clone a master image into 100 clones, but the fbreseal
doesnot have a provision for enteringnew PID or license
number. How does one license each image?
Any ideas?
thanks in advance

The Sysprep equivalent is found in the "System Cloning Tool" component.
It's called FBRESEAL.EXE. You don't need to enter a new PID per copy -
that's a difference between OEM and Embedded licensing. Each unit needs to
have the sticker (COA), but each image doesn't need to have a distinct PID.

If you have any further questions, feel free to contact me directly. I work
for a distributor (of licenses as well as other products), so I can
definitely help you through the issues.

There is only one PID for the image. Cloned images don't get a unique PID.
You license images by purchasing stickers from your vendor and physically
putting them on each device. Just pick one of the PIDs on the stickers you
purchase, and use it in Target Designer. The PIDs on the other stickers can
be ignored. Its the physical presense of the sticker that is your license.

The sysprep equivalent is fbreseal. If the cloning tool is included, you
can set things up so that fbreseal is run manually. The final step of
creating your master image is to run fbreseal. It will mark the image and
shutdown. Capture that image and use it to clone the others. The first
time a clone boots, it will generate a new SID and apply it to that instance
of the image.
