Win XP workstation slow to log on to w2k server

I am finding that some of our Win XP pro workstations are really slow to log
on to our win2k domain controller. Removing and re-adding to the domain does
not seem to help at all. The problem seems randomly distributed amongst the
machines, some do it, others don't. Any ideas anyone???
