Win XP - Word & Excel

This is probably a very basic question - however, when I copy content
either pics or text and then try to paste to a blank document, an
orange square box tilted slightly appears.

No text or pic!

Currently clean of ANY viruses & malware.

I'll bet it is just a setting preference, however, I am going mad
trying to find it!

It's also not an Active Directory or Win2000 (this newsgroup)
question, and even though we will try you may do better posting
in an XP or a Word/Excel group....

I haven't seen this precise problem. Does it happen in
both Word and Excel the same way or only when you
copy and paste from one to the other?

Does it happen if you type ANYTHING in that same
document first?

Probably more interesting to know how much RAM
and what version of Office you are running (OfficeXP
or Office2003 or something else.)
