After downloading the above upgrade last Saturday, I've
lost all sound from my Harmon Kardon speakers. No system
sounds no external sounds. After doing a system restore I
got the sound back. Now, how do I get all the security
features and protection from the upgrade and still keep
my sound????????

Check to make sure the upgrade hasn't modified anything - double click on
the loudspeaker icone in systray and check that all the sliders are at max,
and that nothing is muted.

Cheers,

I have experienced the very same problem after installing
Service Pack 1. According to the Device Manager it is
something with the driver. But I cannot get it fixed. Any
solution anyone?

I had the same problem and I found out that the
sysaudio.sys file had been corrupted (probably by the
upgrade since it worked before). I replaced sysaudio.sys
and it all worked fine.
