I'm trying to network a win XP system to a Win 98. Both
are connected to a router. Both computers can access the
Internet--nothing wrong with cables, router, etc.
I ran the XP wizard, copied the setup to a floppy, ran
the floppy on the Win98 computer, everthing worked except
there was supposed to be a "My Network Places" selection
in the Start menu, but nothing there.
I can get the Win98 computer name and icon on the Win XP
but when i double click the icon i get an error
message "\\Desk_top (the name of the win98 computer) is
nto accessible. You might not have permission to use this
network resource. Contact the admin. of this server to
find out if you have access permissions.
The network path was not found."
Any ideas? i called microsoft, they suggested i call my
computer vendor and they were no help at all.
Thanks.
