error not all installed. So logged of and restarted windows. Tried again to
install service pack 2.

Computer will not pass initial start up screen, gets to
the windows XP screen with the blue lights running below and won't go any
further.Anyone know what to do. Right now it appears to have crashed the
harddrive.........

Since we don't know anything about your computer's hardware or the
software environment before you attempted to install SP2 (100% spyware
and virus-clean? running any incompatible programs like virtual drives?
needing OEM patches before installing SP2?), it's not possible to give
you specific advice. Here are SP2 troubleshooting links:

That "error not all installed" sounds flaky, and makes me want to echo
Malke's advice about ?hardware, ?malware issues.

That failure pattern can apply from the first restart after an
error-free SP2 install, if the processor is Intel Prescott (i.e.
recent P4 or Celeron) and the BIOS doesn't fully support it
(specifically, does not push correct microcode revision to it).

See http://cquirke.mvps.org/sp2intel.htm on that issue.

No stress if it's Prescott issue; you can get in by disabling L1/L2
cache in CMOS (see the link for all the details) so don't do anything
crazy like "format" or "just re-install Windows"!
