Guys, i have just networked a PC into my 11yr old daugters room and want the best security for her so she can learn and surf in comfort.
I have done the security settings in IE and Firefox but want to know if there are any programs that allow me or her mum to access her screen from the PC in the study room without her knowing (not a case of spying but want to see if we can trust her)

I have set up remote connection but that disables ger screen till i have finished working on it (updates, avg updates etc atc)

or do you have any suggestions that i could use? the last thing i need is pop ups asking her for a partner in the UK or for viagra pills.

With kindest regards

Gavin

It does not exist!

We have been down this road before ... your worst enemy is 'classmates' who say to go "here" 'cos it's cool.

Disable IE, which you cannot, and use Firefox, which I see you have. Now install the SiteAdvisor plug-in.

Install ... SpywareBlaster, MS Windows Defender, Ad-AwareSE and a good AV program such as AntiVir or KAV ... teach her how to use them. :thumb:

The only computer restrictions I would impose is ...
Ask before downloading anything and access all Websites never visited using search.
The former practice helps keep unwanted stuff off the PC and the latter helps kept you from stumbling onto porn because whitehouse.com isn't where the US President lives. Otherwise, operate on trust.

One rider to all this ... if you have to "fix" the PC, it comes out of her pocket. ;)

thank-you for your reply. I have done what you have suggested and now trying to implement the restrictions.

Have a beer on me!

Kindest regards

if you want to view the screen you could install realvnc, i think that you can just view the screen without actually taking control
