After I have logged onto the internet I receive a one min
warning saying to "save all info or it will be lost. The
shutdown was initiated by NT Authority\Sustem. Windows
much now restart because the Remote Procedure Call service
terminate unexpectedly." What causes this and what is the
fix? It is Windows XP. Thanks!
.
That is exactly what is happening to me, its driving me
nuts. I have tried reinstall, didn't fix it. My System
Restore Service is not working also, unexpected error 5,
access denied. Any help you pros out there? Please.

Thanks.

Diane;
You most likely have a worm W32.Blaster.Worm
DISCONNECT the subject computer from any network IMMEDIATELY.

Install or enable a firewall IMMEDIATELY:

VERY IMPORTANT to follow ALL steps, closing ports or installing the
patch is NOT enough.
Download the appropriate patch referenced in Ron Martells article
below.
You may need to do this at an uninfected computer and burn to CD or
save on floppy.

This is the IMPORTANT fix by Ron Martell:

After this is resolved prevent similar occurrences by installing ALL
Critical Updates from Windows Update.
Keep antivirus up to date and run at least weekly.
Install or enable a firewall.
