Win XP Pro Upgrade error, help!!

Hi everyone,

Hoping you can help...
I have a not so legal copy of windows XP Pro on my pc..So, I have a brand
new, fully legal copy of win XP pro with SP2.
I began to do an upgrade install, but setup will only get as far as copying
the setup files then I get the following error:

"setp cannot read from or write to drive C - disable antivirus and try again"

So, I disabled norton, didnt work. Then I uninstalled norton and it still
didnt work.
I dont know what to do about this, its such a shame!

Any suggestions on why this is happening would be great,

Do not try running the Repair form Windows. Boot off the new CD and run the
repair install that way. check How To Run a Repair Install at this link
