When I run the Network Set-up Wiz I get an error "Spooler
Subsystem Application has encountered an error and needs
to close". So I can't set up my network. I can't find
this in the knowledge base, so I am stuck.

Greetings Chris,

First, take a look at the following MS KB article before
following these instructions. Try stopping the spooler
service before setting up the home network. Here's what
you do.

1. Open a command prompt window.

2. Stop the spooler service - type "net stop spooler"
(without quotes) and hit the ENTER key.

3. Then setup the network. After you finish then you can
restart the service.

NOTE: You can restart the spooler service by typing "net
start spooler" (without quotes) or rebooting the machine.

Here's the MS KB Article:

Spooler Subsystem App Has Encountered a Problem and Needs
to Close" and "Operation Could Not Be Completed" Error

Hi Chris
Just wanted to let you know that your not alone! I have
the same problem. I've sent the message into Microsoft a
dozen times, but I haven't of a fix yet. Do you have
Windows XP Home Edition? If you do, when you open up a
folder in Windows Explorer, do you have a link option
called "Other Places?" The Help and Support program says
it should be there. It doesn't show up in my folders. I
wonder if that's one of the reasons why I can't configure
my Network. I sure wish Microsoft could help us with this
problem!
