Hi!
I'm having a serious problem here, hope someone can help
me out whit this.. ok, I have 3 computers connected
trought a LAN modem, a 3COM router, in one I've Win XP
Home Edition installed everything works fine, this is a
laptop, it can access internet and everything is great
with this computer. The problem is with the other 2
computers, they both have Win XP Pro installed and only
connect for a few minutes, apparently they slow down the
LAN connection, its really weird.

If I use any of the WIN XP Pro machines I will only be
able to access internet for a few minutes, then the
connection will be dead, for some reason the connection
slows down till its dead.

On the other hand, if I use my laptop with Win Xp Home
Edition, everything will work just great...

hope someone can help, thank you!

Hi,

I've had the same problem. Whenever I connect WinXP home or pro to my
network, it kills all the connections. I tried different routers and it was
the same problem. Strangely, I have a compaq laptop running xp pro that
works, but a toshiba running home and a desktop running pro doesn't.

MHH weird, the only computer that I have and can use the
connection without killing it, it is also a compaq laptop
with win xp home...

I hope someone can help us with this..

To confirm that it wasn't the hardware's fault, I installed Windows 2000 on
the desktop with WinXP and everything worked fine. Must be a bug in WinXP.
BTW, what's the network adapter brand in your laptop?
