I have been running WIN XP Pro for some time but recently have been getting
a lot of lockups lately. I haven't added any new software to the system.
This is a P4 2.4 GHz machine with 1MB of RAM. I have looked at Event
Viewer, but that doesn't indicate what happened. Several different programs
will cause the freeze, Norton Anti-virus being one of them, after it has
run for awhile. Is there a log file or something I can look at to determine
what caused the problem?

Windows XP Pro requires at least 64MB of ram to run.

If you really only have 1MB you might want to consider
getting more and see if that fixes it.

Only the event logs, which won't show anything if the system just
locked. Does it do it with the side off the case? (Over-temperature of
components is a frequent cause of this, and the weather is getting
hotter!).
