Forgot to note. Many old programs break on XP. The Microsoft website
has a program to check for programs that are likely to break. That may make
up your mind. Also note that some older programs also break on ME.
I have never successfully installed WinME, either on a new drive, or as an
upgrade. In fact, during an upgrade, it trashed a drive. I use 2 operating
systems now: Windows 2000 and Windows XP Pro, both for personal use and for
business. I am happy with both of them, preferring XP on new machines and
2000 on older ones.
