I downloaded the required updates yesterday,I am being asked to frequently
download the same one!,I have now 7 of them in my control panel.I can not
find the number to remove there of the extra ones KB936181.I didn't realize i
was repeatedly downloading the same ones.
Need help please on what to do about this.

How does one store downloads in the "control-panel".....As for repeating the
same ones,try running microsoft update..

Control panel ,shows all the updates that are downloaded into my
computer,provided i have the box checked,otherwise I wouldn't have noticed
all the repeated downloads, of the same darn thing. Also i tried everything to
get rid of the notice to download from my task bar its stuck there and won't
go away, yes i did go to windows update website i get the same download there
too!Im stumped on this one.

How strange, because I am having the same problem with the same security
update file KB928365. Started today 7/11/07, I ran it twice already, and
keeps saying "Installation complete", but the Update Icon keeps reappering on
my task bar, with the same update. Checked Add/Remove Programs, and it
indicates that that update is installed "Security Update For Microsoft .NET
Framework Ver 2.2), except it does not indicate a size (MB) or date of
installation .
Anyone have a fix on how to get rid of this update icon ?

Winnie, I don't know if your problem is that same as mine, but I
contacted Microsoft, followed their instructions and the solution seems
to have worked for me. Here is what I did:

Download Microsoft Windows Installer CleanUp utility:
http://download.microsoft.com/download/E/9/D/E9D80355-7AB4-45B8-80E8-983A48D5E1BD/msicuu2.exe
"Windows Installer 3.1 Redistributable (v2)"
http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/...FamilyID=889482fc-5f56-4a38-b838-de776fd4138c

Run Disk CleanUp on your computer first, then try to run the Windows updates
page and select custom then uncheck the updates which keeping reinstalling
on your computer.
Then open the Windows Explorer and locate this path:
C:\Windows\SoftwareDistributions\ Download or update and delete the
contents in the Right Pane/Window for these updates.
Reboot your computer.

Try to go to the windows update site and run the update engine, then select
Custom scan and install for the updates.
When the scanner finish scanning for the updates and show you the updates
availables uncheck this Updates from the list and also check never remind me
again with this update (second check box for the same update if you expand
the update tree) and install which available.
You cannot install some updates or programs:

If you cannot delete the Msxml4.dll, as described, then try this -
If the Msxml4.dll file is locked, the file may not be updated when you apply security
update 936181. To work around this issue, use the following commands to uninstall
Msxml4.dll:
• MsiExec.exe /uninstall {37477865-A3F1-4772-AD43-AAFC6BCFF99F} /passive
• Del %windir%\system32\msxml4.dll

Well this was strange but worked!I went to automatic updates ,removing the
check mark.Rebooted my computer then added the check mark for automatic
updates,lo and behold the icon was gone! and I had no more problems so far,
with the reacurred prompting to install the same update.Fluke or what.
