Hi and thanks in advance for any advice.

All machines have xp pro installed.
Home Network with Internet connection all sharing working.

Situation: 3 pc's connected and working on the network.
I want to give my self access to shared folders on all computers but not
anyone else.
What I mean is if I am pc 1 I can see all via a logon / password.
And also got to either of the other machines and access the network via
a logon / password?
Or being on pc 2 and seeing pc 1.
I have had a good go at this with out too much success to be honest.
Would I be correct in saying to resolve this is would have to work with
Sharing / permissions?
"Simple file sharing" disabled.
If so I will have to post what I tried and what I failed.

Thanks for any help or advice.

Mark.

Ive disabled the "simple filesharing"
But i cant see myself on the permission list?

I am pc 1
I am setting permissions on pc 2
When i goto permissions / location i can only see pc 2 which i'm sitting at.
The list for permissions only has the users on pc 2 also where I am pc 1.
So how would I get my name in the list?

This bit above has been a real sticking point for me.
I'm not convinced that I understand it the correct way?
I thought that going into permissions would list all other users on the
network and then just add them.
Its also frustrating that in LOCATION it only list the pc I am at which I
thought would have been the way forward to add myself.

Help please ?
I'm sure I can move forward if I understand the above a little better.
