Win XP Home Fax causes continual system reboot

I use Win XP Home on an IBM PC and keep it at the current level. I installed
Win Fax and it didn't work so I rebooted to see if that would help. My system
now reboots itself repeatedly. It doesn't stay active long enough for me to
even check the exact service level of the operating system nor long enough to
open Control Panel to try and uninstall the Fax software. I don't want to
restore my system as the last backup I have is over a year old (I should know
better). Any suggestions?

"Win Fax?" Clarify what you mean and why you would not turn to Symantec for
an answer.

To clarify, I installed the fax program that comes with Windows XP home
edition.

That is not Win Fax. Read the FAQ and post some complete and accurate

I searched FAQ's before submitting my question here. I didn't find anything referencing constant reboots. I could provide more detail on the actual application if my system would stay up long enough to bring an application up so everything I am providing is from memory. I'm sorry if sufficient detail is not available but appreciate you having a look anyway.

There have been no documented instances of the Fax Service producing this
behavior. Constant reboots are often a symptom of a driver conflict, which I
why I suspect your fax modem and its driver.
