I've got a machine with XP on it which one day didn't finish booting.
It reaches up to just before the loading screen, displays a blue screen with white text for a small fraction of a second, and proceeds to reboot. Trying Safe Mode and Latest Working Configuration yelds the same result.
I'm still looking for my WinXP CD, will try booting it when i find it, but I've been led to think it isn't the OS's fault.
I added another computer's HDD (which has DOS on it) and booted from it, and the computer boots perfectly.
However, when I put in another HDD with a working version of XP in, the same thing happens: a blue screen for a tiny fraction of a second and then reboot.
I tried removing the sound card and LAN card to no avail (I don't have another video card to try that but it works fine in DOS)
Anybody have any idea of what can be the reason?
