Hi
I am trying to install a fresh install of Xp.
I format the drive, it then copies some files ( the files you can see being
copied at the bottom the screen) It then restarts, but all I get is NTLDR is
missing.
What is NTLDR It cant be something on the drive because I have formatted it.
Could the XP disc be corrupt.

Thanks for any help

You are booting from the Windows XP CD?
And you are pressing any key to do so when asked.. And using the Partition
chooser to delete/create necessary partitions during the install - and
allowing it to format if needed?

If so - then perhaps there is something with your comptroller - do you have
a floppy diskette you need to press F6 for a special driver for at the
beginning of the installation process? (Older motherboard, SATA or SCSI
drive?)

That message comes about when you have no bootable disk on a system - like
you hard disk drive has been formatted but not fully installed.

Thank you for your reply. What you have suggested could possibly be the
problem.
It is not my computer, but a friends, that I offered to try and fix for him.
He only gave me the upgrade XP disc and the qualifing Windows 98 disc, but no
floppy.
On system boot, system infomation does say that it is a SCSI drive, is this
the problem, if he doesn't have floppy with the drivers, is there anything
else I can do to rectify.
Thanks again

Only find/download and use the drivers..
Open the machine - find out what the controller is somehow and get the
drivers from the Internet.
