I've got three PC computers connected through a D-Link DSL-504G (ADSL Router with four "hubs"). Two wired using Win98, the third (Dell 4600)(also wired) is running XP Home. All three of these PCs work fine on I-net but only the win 98 computers are visible to each other (and also working). I have worked for days trying to connect the XP home computer without success. I have uninstalled all firewalls, run the network guide about 100 times, payed a computer technician a lot of money without solving the problem, he just told me that everything was properly setup. What to do
I called Dell support: That is not our problem! Try interne

I tried internet for two days checking everything (I think). It seems nobody have my problem? Confusing
Please help, Tom

Tom,

Please describe with a bit more detail "visible to each other".

What firewalls did you have on the Windows XP computer?

Can you ping the Windows XP computer from the others?

What network protocol are the Win98 computers running?

From each computer: Start - Run - "ipconfig /all >c:\ipconfig.txt" -
open "c:\ipconfig.txt" in notepad - copy and paste into your next
post.

Are you running simple, or advanced, file sharing on the Windows XP
computer?

If advanced file sharing, are you logging on to the Win98 computers
with an account / password identical to one setup on the Windows XP
computer?

Cheers,
Chuck
Paranoia comes from experience - and is not necessarily a bad thing.
