In my toolbar menu in outlook express the menu options
keep disappearing slowly during the day. This is only
happening while on Win XP. I never had this probelm in
WIn98. Any suggestions?

Thanks

'Menu options' (File-Edit-View...) or the items/buttons in OE toolbar
(Send-Copy-Attach-Paste...) gradually get bigger and start to disappear,
right-to-left?

Usually just closing the current message window and opening a new one takes
care of it for a while. It's a problem well-known to OE users. MS says
they're aware of the problem but can't duplicate it. Go figure.

Perhaps some maintenance is in order?

Thanks for the response. The funny thing is that someone
else is using the same operating system and there OE is
fine. I wonder if anyone know of a fix?

If Microsoft doesn't have a fix and one isn't listed at tomsterdam.com,
the answer is "no". Try another email program? Eudora, Mozilla Mail,
Opera Mail, etc. perhaps?

From what I've observed, regular OE maintenance (deleting old messages,
including newsgroup messages, followed by a manual compact of all OE folders
whilst offline) and IE maintenance (deleting TIF, accepting the option to
delete all offline content) is the best way to minimize the possibility of
this happening:

That being said, the *disappearance* or distortion of the OE toolbar is
something else:
