Win xp and 98

Is it possible to network a windows 98SE computer to a Windows XP porfessional computer and if so how
 
Yes and depends on what gear you have to use.
Install network cards in each machine and configure.
Make sure the workgroup name is the same for both machines, xp defaults to
Mshome so change the 98 to this name, I forget it's default settings.

Connect the two machines using a switch or router or just a crossover cable.
Turn on File and print sharing on both machines.
Share some things on both machines. Search this NG for a more step by step
procedure.
