Run the Wizard again on XP and tell it that the computer connects to
the Internet through a "residential gateway" (the Wizard's term for a
router), not a hub.

Since the Wizard won't run on 98, configure its network settings
manually. Go to Control Panel | Network and:

1. Install these network components if they're not already present:
a. Client for Microsoft Networks
b. TCP/IP protocol
c. File and Printer Sharing for Microsoft Networks

2. Configure the network adapter's TCP/IP properties to obtain an IP
address automatically.

3. Click the Identification tab, specify a computer name, and set the
workgroup name to MSHOME to match XP's workgroup name.

Reboot, then right-click and share any desired disks, folders, and
printers
