win xlp problem with drives

I am ready to get rid of Windows xp yet I really don't
want to. None of my drives work, except B drive. I have
no dvd, zip drive, or external cd buner working. I have
tried to reinstall but windows reconizes the hardware is
there and will install the driver but gives codes on
reason for not working. Can anyone help

Well have you considered just doing a full and clean install
of Win XP

You'll have to tell us what make & model your drives are.

You can see your computer, we can't. All we know about it is what you've
told us, which isn't much. :>(

Very few computers even have a Drive B: since the days of dual floppy
drives. What make and model is your computer. How many drives do you have,
what kind are they and how do you have them partitioned? You told us some
things you DON'T have, but not what you DO have.

You say it "gives codes on reason for not working". Please copy those codes
verbatim into your next message so that some guru can interpret them and
tell you what to do next.
