When windows trys to start up, i get the following blue
screen error; "STOP: c0000218 {Registry File Failure}
The registry cannot load the hive (file):
\SystemRoot\System32\Config\SOFTWARE
or its log or alternate.
It is corrupt, absent, or not writeable", the system then
automatically reboots.
I've installed windows now on another HD and can access
the HD where windows has that problem. There's two files
in the "\SystemRoot\System32\Config\" folder, SOFTWARE and
software.log.
anyone know how i can edit the 22mb software file and
possible fix it? or might the problem be with the log
file? Again, how might I fix that then?
The system IS on a SCSI HD, and has worked for over 2
years fine with that installation, so there's no
compatability problem to my knowledge.
Any help, would be MUCH appreciated!!
Thanks.
