I ran Windows Update on my XP home edition system a week
ago and now I get an error regarding NAV 2003
subscription service not installed - this product was
installed (NAV) in March of 2003 and should not have this
error, and the error did not exist prior to running Win
Update, so what is going on here? Is Microsoft aware of
this issue and if so what are they doing to correct it?
Meanwhile my system must be manually updated for virus
protection. I do not want to purchase NAV 2004 at this
time so I need Microsoft to give me some answers and take
the responsibility on this issue. Please advise.

Hey Steve,

1. You are not actually speaking to microsoft, but to users just like
yourself.

2. Have you checked the Symantech website, I found this article in under a
minute,

Subscription Service appears as "Not installed" after you upgrade,
reinstall, or repair the operating system

http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPOR...567e50048a048&dtype=&prod=&ver=&osv=&osv_lvl=

They seem to think its caused by a virus, and have instructions how to fix
it.

I'm not a religious person, but the phrase "Judge not, less ye be judged"
does spring to mind.
