Windows Vista win media player will not open in vista home premium

windows vista home premium, norton antiirus, conected wirelessly to high speed cable, processor is genuine intel [email protected] memory 2038mb 1260mb free, video intel gma950 . i cannot get windows media player open. i double click and the hour glass pops up for a second and then goes away. what do i do?

i have installed a program for my new smartphone. other than that i also use musicmatch jukebox and real player.
