Win Media Player not removing audio files on delete?

Hi,

Win Media player isn't deleting stuff out of the Media Library!?

I delete, and it looks like it's gone. I shut it down, re-open and they're
all back again.

What's more frustrating is that a lot of these media files are no longer
there - so what gives?

I am also having problems copying files from a CD - it runs through the
process fine, and even creates a folder on my C drive, with the files listed
there - and when I double click on them, Win Media Player opens and plays
them - however - it just doens't see them when I try "adding to playlist".

Damn thing - it's never easy is it?
Nath.

Hi tradmusic,

It seems you have a corrupted media database. You can nuke the Media
Library. Search for the file CurrentDatabase_59R.wmdb on your
computer, when you find it, rename it to CurrentDatabase_59Rold.wmdb

Now start Windows Media Player and have it look for all media on your
computer, that will create a new Media Library.

Hope this helps.

Nice one Roger!

There was one of these files listed for each user on this machine, which was
very handy.

Thanks again,
Nath.
