Win ME upgrade/ Norton programs won't install

I just upgraded my computer from ME to XP. This computer
is networked to two others in my office. After the
upgrade I tried to install Symantec Internet Security, but
was unsucessful. The program shows up on my screen for a
second, then disappears. I have since become infected
with two worms. Can some one help?

Take the machine off the network. Remove the hard drive and attach it to a
known clean machine with an antivirus program. Have the other machine scan
and clean your hard drive of viruses. Put the hard drive back in your
machine. Install an antivirus program and update it online before putting
it back on the network.
