I have just increased the RAM from 128k when bought 5
years ago to 256K. The machine is faster but some things
cause it to stop.

Win Me, in its original condition - unless I've deleted
something.

Where should I start to looh fo solutions'?

Regards ... Rob.

Try posting to a WinME ng, for an informative response
Also use a dedicated newsreader, eg OE as apposed to web access - makes

Hi Rob

You can't run Win ME with 256K of RAM. Try the windowsme.general News group
for some help:

Uh, that's pretty obviously a typo; surely, he meant that he'd upped
the RAM from 128MB to 256MB.

The most likely problem is that the new RAM did not match the MB
or it did not match the old RAM. You must ensure that the RAM
timing matches.

It might also be bad RAM or a bad RAM socket; you can test for this
by trying each (old and new) RAM stick in each socket. And, try
running MemTest86 (google for it) on each RAM stick and on the pair.

A typo is when your fingers hit the wrong key. When your mind tells you to
type something that is incorrect - that is a mento!
