Win Live Messenger would not launch

This morning, the Windows Live Messenger suddenly would not launch. I
uninstalled and reinstalled it, but it would not launch anyway. Clicking on
its icon produces nothing.
How may I get my messenger back?

System restore to 2 December ?
 
Thanks for your suggestion. I'm looking for a cause of this problem and how
to prevent and solve it. The System Restore would not work for me...
