I know I can set Folder Options to "remember each folder's view settings"
and I have set it to do so (but I am not at all convinced that Windows
actually remembers). Is there a way to set the default display in Windows
Explorer to "details" instead of icons? The only display I ever use is
"details," yet most folders still display with icons when I look at them
again much later.
When I need to navigate through Win Explorer to find something, the tiny bit
of information in the icon is nearly worthless. Of course, it is nice to
know that a particular file is a Word file or an Acrobat file. But so are
at least 95% of all my many files. I want at least the full name of the
file, and the date when last modified.
