A friend of mine cannot boot into windows 98 (not se) and would like
to get some of his personal data off the hard drive. He can however
get into safe mode.
Now I know that I could simply take the hard drive out and put it into
another computer as a slave and transfer the data that way. But
imagine this was a paying client and he didn't want the PC/hard drive
to leave his premises.
My question is this, I have an external hard drive formatted into 4
partitions as FAT32/FAT32/FAT32/NTFS. In order for windows 98 to see
this drive software must be installed.
If I connect it to the USB port on his pc and boot into safe mode am I
right in thinking that the external drive will not be seen by windows
and that I will not be able to no install the win98 drivers as the
CD-ROM drivers are not loaded in safe mode?
Hope that makes some kind of sense..............
Cheers
