I have the opertunity to buy 11 Win-95 comps left over from an auction .

Are they worth anything at all ?

Am planning on fixing them up , and donating them to the needy in my area .

perfect net machine....email - surfing - word processing

just keep YOUR cost down if your donating...

Its great to do stuff for other people, but don't let it cost you a bunch o cash...look to get receipts and use it on your taxes.

Tim,

Short answer is most likely yes. As always, it depends on a bunch of
factors, the main one being what you expect they will be used for. If their
main use is for office type work such as word processing and spreadsheet
work, etc. then they will be fine. However, if you are wanting to use them
to play the latest and greatest games then they may be a bit lacking (this
being said, I'm sure they'd be fine to play some older games). Second
factor is how much will you be paying for them? If they are practically
free then you really can't go wrong.

Paul

Most people would likely declare them

Maybe $50-$100 each? That's if everything is there.

Good for you. I've "donated" lots of computers to friends/family/kids in the
neighborhood. The only problem can be if they expect "support" when they
mudge them up with viruses etc. I usually try to burn a driver "restore"
disk to include so someone else has a chance of fixing them.

Including the OS install or restore disk and COA.

Make sure they wil accept them though. Some might be hestiant on
taking that old of gear.
