Win 2K Pro Installed but won't scan

I have a slightly different problem. The software
installed without any errors, runs in real time (taskbar)
and comes up when doubled-clicked. However when I try to
do a scan, nothing happens! Any ideas? Also have a
scheduled scan configured, this will not start either.
There are no error messages. When a scan is called, CPU
usage goes up for a short time (1~2 mins) and the % CPU
for the Antispyware process also goes up. NOTHING happens!
