win 2k keeps trying to restart

is there a way to pause the startup i get a blue screen
and can't read it before the system trys to restart this
happened after some security and driver updates

I just had a sililar situation. After updates last weekend a system
(HP Vectra) was in a reboot... BlueScreen.. reboot loop. I was able
to bring it up in VGA mode and reinstalled teh video driver and it
solved the problem. I did not change any drivers, just MS updates.

Have you tried safe mode? Hit F8 during bootup and boot
into safe mode, it looks as if your startup and recovery
option has a check under system failure -> automatic
restart.
