Which is the best way to set this up on a new PC. I am assuming that
once the OS is installed this shouldn't/can't be changed.

Should I answer "NO" and let the BIOS assign the interrupts or answer
"YES" and let Windows do it?

Thanks,

Steve

Yes - let Win2K OS do it.

Dave,

I thought that I read that if you let Windows do this it would then
assign everything to the same (shared) interrupt which could cause
problems. Does anyone have real world experince with this?

Don't believe everything you read in The National Enquirer.

I've actually changed mine from "Yes" to "No" because of other posts I've
read. I've seen other posters recommend letting the Bios do it. I wish I
had some links for you but ...

Jbob,

This is kinda what I remember reading but I don't recall the details.
I was hoping that someone else would.

Set it to Yes, Windows is quite capable of doing it.

You can change the setting after Windows is installed if you have problems,
but there are other things I would attempt first.

Devices sharing an IRQ shouldn't be a problem these days.
