Hi, Coop.

Microsoft omitted msconfig.exe from Win2K. If you can borrow a copy from
WinXP, it should run fine in Win2K.

I don't know about msi.data, but it sounds like a Microsoft installation
file of some sort. How do you know you are missing this file? In other
words, what tells you that it is missing?

Hi RC,
Yes, msi.data1 evidently is an installation file. I
receive a pop up message when I try to uninstall office
2000 telling me I'm missing that file. Actually, when I
try to uninstall the pc tries to INSTALL. I get a message
asking for the cd to be put in the drive. After this
(installing the cd), is when the missing 'msi.data1' error
message comes up.

Thanks,
Coop

Hi, Coop.

Several UNinstaller programs say that they are installing. :>( It sure
makes it confusing for us! Usually, all we have to do is forge ahead and we
get the right result, but it can make for a nervous few minutes.

Sometimes, to uninstall a program - especially one that was poorly
uninstalled previously - the best course is to first install it again. This
lets the installer rewrite the pointers and other data necessary to
uninstall it later - maybe including files such as msi.data1. Unless you
see some reason not to do this, it probably would be worth trying.

Either way, you likely will need the program's CD-ROM.
