win 2000 update

i have win2000 pro. when I chose the windows update icon,
I get the below message (this feature has worked in the
past). Can anyone tell me how to fix this.

I just encountered this same problem today, plus when

trying to up my ofc xp it says I'm using an unknown
browser when using IE 6, help.
