Hi, I have a desktop with win98 with a bluetooth usb card,
and a laptop with win2000 with a bluetooth pc card, They
see each other through the bluetooth but I cannot seem to
share any files, I want to connect through the bluetooth
network to the laptop but the laptop crashes. Can I set up
a normal network through the bluetooth?

Please supply precise details about what happens when
you do what. "See each other" and "cannot share any files"
is too vague for a diagnosis.

Ok I got a bit further, I have connected the two computers
through virtual serial ports for the bluetooth. I have
set up a "direct connection" in win2000 as a guest calling
win98 through these virtual ports, it comes up with "error
777 ...modem on the remote computer out of order"
I know both devices are ok so I think my settings must be
wrong?
The bluetooth software on each computer (Belken-
win98 /Brainbox-win2000)both say the computers are
connected, so what should I try next?

Thanks Graeme
